John Sandoe Books, An Englishman’s Commonplace Book: Book Launch

Book Launch: An Englishman’s Commonplace Book

When Roger Hudson began to compile what was to become An Englishman’s Commonplace Book almost 40 years ago we’re almost certain that these were not the circumstances in which he thought his book might be published . . .

Despite everything that is going on in the world right now, a pair of Foxes scurried off to South West London on the rather dreary and wet evening of Wednesday 30 September 2020 to raise a glass with Roger and booksellers Johnny and Boojum at John Sandoe Books. It was an absolute joy to be able to celebrate Roger and the publication of An Englishman’s Commonplace Book at one of our favourite independent bookshops.

As a small publisher, we’re so grateful for the support of independent bookshops around the country and in turn we like to do our best to support them. Thank you to everyone who has pre-ordered a copy of Roger’s commonplace book from us and to those of you who will pick it up at your local independent bookshop. We do hope one day we’ll be able to celebrate future book launches with dear friends, readers and booksellers across the country but for now this small gathering will suffice . . .
