Carry Akroyd is a painter and printmaker whose images examine the relationship between wildlife and the farming landscape, but are just as much about colour and composition.

After studying for an MA in Fine Art, and illustrating two books of John Clare’s poetry, The Shepherd’s Calendar and The Wood is Sweet, with linocuts, she went on to write her own book Nature’s Powers & Spells, Landscape Change, John Clare and Me which includes 150 of her images, and explains her interest in the nineteenth century poet.

Carry has also been part of a team of artists working on projects about the Great Fen Project with the Wildlife Trust, and Scottish Atlantic Oakwoods for the Scottish Forestry Commission.
