William Palmer’s first novel, The Good Republic, was published in 1990 and since then he has published more novels and a volume of short stories. A collection of his poems, The Water Steps, was published by Rack Press in 2017 and his first non-fiction book, In Love with Hell: Drink in the Lives and Work of Eleven Writers, was published in 2021. His stories and poems have appeared in many journals, and have been broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and 4. He has reviewed regularly for the Independent and Literary Review. He lives in South West London.
