Derek Parker started life as a print journalist, then via television pursued a twenty-year career with BBC radio, writing, compiling, presenting innumerable programmes (see BBC Genome) on the arts. He then turned to writing biographies (Byron, Donne, Cellini, Casanova etc.) before retiring to Sydney with his astrologer/embroiderer, writer wife Julia, and dogs. Where he goes on writing.
