‘Slightly Foxed . . . is most certainly a respite from the New Yorker, New York Times, and Washington Post. The quarterly seems to inhabit a time that is . . . well, almost timeless. Or perhaps better said, it seems to bring the past into the present, so different from the prevailing insistence on the now. But the quarterly also introduces me to interesting people who are writing about books that I often haven’t heard of and that, for me, is a real treat. Friends often recommend books, but Slightly Foxed offers a connection with books that is personal and different from most book reviews.’
