New this Autumn from Slightly Foxed

‘Many thanks for curating a perfectly delightful publication. I always have one within reach – in my handbag, in the car, on my bedside table and in the living room!’ B. John, UK

Greetings, dear readers, from Hoxton Square, where the leaves on the trees are beginning to brown. We’re delighted to report that Slightly Foxed Issue 87 has now left the printing press at Smith Settle and should arrive with readers in the coming days and weeks. The new autumn issue, sporting a piece by one of Ireland’s most prolific painters Melita Denaro on the cover, is sure to ease you into the season of mists.

And for those of you who are on a repeat order to receive our new limited-edition memoir each quarter, your usual hand-numbered copy of First Light by Geoffrey Wellum will be with you very soon.

Meantime, go forth and browse our latest online Readers’ Catalogue, where you’ll find our cloth-bound limited-edition hardbacks, our popular Plain Foxed Editions, a collection of literary bundles and our pick of titles from other publishers’ bookshelves.

Everything listed on our website can be sent to you, or directly to a recipient, in good time for a date or occasion of your choice. Slightly Foxed subscribers can use their usual discount on all items, whether they are to be sent to you or to someone else.

With best wishes from the SF staff

Isabel, Edie, Rebecca, Ruth & Jennie

PS We are delighted that so many of you have snapped up tickets for our 2025 Readers’ Day (8 November at The Art Workers’ Guild in Bloomsbury) since they went on sale last week. Space is limited and tickets are fast disappearing so, if you’re hoping to come along, please do book sooner rather than later. Speakers will be: Maggie Fergusson on Gerard Manley Hopkins; William Golding’s biographer Tim Kendall; Catherine Coldstream on her compelling account of life as a nun; Alexandra Harris on the Sussex landscape of her childhood; Sarah Anderson of the famed Notting Hill Bookshop and the longest-serving Waterstones employee Martin Latham on life as a bookseller.

More details and tickets may be found here: Readers’ Day 2025
