‘Slightly Foxed Editions are perfectly designed to curl up with – neat, sturdy little hardbacks, just the right size to hold in the hand and with a ribbon marker to keep your place. More important still, they’re wonderful reads – hitherto forgotten memoirs that bring alive a particular moment, that allow you into someone else’s world and make you feel you have actually known the writer. Often these books light up a period in a way no history book can …’
Slightly Foxed Editor Hazel on our popular series of limited edition memoirs.
Until 19 May, we’re running an eBay auction for a rare set of 30 of these Editions with 50% of the proceeds above the reserve price to be donated to Bowel Cancer UK on behalf of Katy Macmillan-Scott and her Adventures for Harriet – a 600-mile literary pilgrimage across Europe in the footprints of Patrick Leigh Fermor, in homage to a dear friend.
It’s an extremely rare opportunity to collect a handsome set of books, and raise money for a good cause at the same time. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that someone will snap them up – we can hardly believe they’ve become so valuable!
