Slightly Foxed Issue 12: From the Editors

Well, it’s Christmas again. We’re glad to report that as the year ends Slightly Foxed is bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, with subscriptions coming in, the direct debit system up and running, and an excellent response to our modest forays into merchandizing. We’ve been delighted by your enthusiasm for our elegant grey slipcases and the new postcards based on popular Slightly Foxed covers. And of course, there’s another Christmas Fox to enjoy: The Reluctant Biographer, Jeremy Lewis’s wry and delightful account of his second, unexpected career. So do get your orders in before the Christmas rush. In a quiet moment, too, you might like to have a go at our usual Christmas competition. The first person to identify the author depicted in Mark Handley’s linocut below will receive a free annual subscription.

On other fronts it’s been a pretty grim year, hasn’t it? Never has the solace and sanity of good books been more needed, especially if you’re travelling by air. We can only send you our best wishes for the coming year and thank you warmly once more for your support – we hope it has been mutual.
