‘Banishment, destruction, murder and deportation are, regrettably, an integral part of good housekeeping’
Greetings from Hoxton Square, where we’re readying to embark upon a much-needed office declutter. Next week, Gail, Jennie and Aimi are heading down from Devon, Norfolk and Walthamstow respectively to help the office foxes sort through everything and decide what stays and what has to go.
Whilst we have grown accustomed to the controlled chaos of the office with its obstacle course of cardboard boxes and piles of books, the time has come to clear the decks so we can welcome our forthcoming publications. We are looking forward to a fresh start in a streamlined iteration of SF HQ that, we hope, will spark joy!
To put us in the right mindset for the task ahead, we thought we’d revisit Ysenda Maxtone Graham’s piece from Issue 36 about the trials and tribulations of decluttering as a book-lover.
Speaking of Ysenda Maxtone Graham – frequent contributor to the quarterly and author of Plain Foxed Editions Terms and Conditions and Mr Tibbits’s Catholic School – we are delighted to have just received the first advance copies of her first novella Love Divine, which we will be publishing as a Slightly Foxed Occasional book on September 1. Copies are available to pre-order now.
Please scroll down to read Ysenda’s article in full, browse some beloved Slightly Foxed Editions with waning stock and a hear some exciting news from our friends at the Munnings Art Museum.
With best wishes, as ever, from the SF office staff
Isabel, Izzy, Edie, Jennie & Rebecca
