Still Foxy at Fifty

Summer has arrived at Slightly Foxed! The 50th issue of The Real Readers Quarterly will be dropping on to subscribers doormats across the world over the next few days, just in time for the Bank Holiday weekend here in the UK.

We do hope youll enjoy reading it, be it in the garden, on the beach, in the bath, in a favourite armchair, in bed, or wherever you happen to take your quarterly dose of Slightly Foxed. Some years ago we sent a letter to our overseas readers, asking them to send us a postcard describing your favourite surroundings for reading Slightly Foxed. We were delighted with the responses and many of the postcards still adorn our office noticeboard. If you feel inclined over the summer please do send us a postcard describing your favourite reading places, or a photo of the 50th issue of Slightly Foxed on its travels – it will be warmly received by the office foxes.

As we touched on in our last newsletter, weve decided to mark the occasion of our 50th issue by celebrating you, our subscribers. Its you who make it possible for Slightly Foxed to survive – or thrive, even! Last month we announced free access to the digital edition for all print subscribers which were delighted to hear that many of you are now enjoying.

From now on subscribers will also receive a member discount on all books and goods produced by us as well as free p&p on all in-print books featured in Slightly Foxed itself. Non-subscribers to the quarterly are most welcome to continue to buy from us online, by phone or post at the usual retail price. You’ll be able to see both sets of prices on our website and order forms from now on and the website should (in theory) know when you’re a subscriber and apply your discount at the last stage of the checkout. We hope it will be clear and work seamlessly but if you encounter any problems when ordering please get in touch with Olivia or Katy in the SF office: [email protected]; 020 7033 0258.

The office will be closed from 5pm this evening until 9.30am on Tuesday 31st May for the Bank Holiday weekend so if you’d like to order online over the weekend please note that your items won’t be dispatched until Tuesday or Wednesday. We’ll be in touch again in June with the usual featured extract from a back issue and some suggestions for Father’s Day presents. Meantime, please read on to browse the new quarter’s literary offerings.
