Greetings from Foxed HQ where the winter quarter is officially upon us and, as is customary at this time of year, the office is fit to bursting with towers of books, reams of smart brown wrapping paper and rolls of handsome cream ribbon bearing little running foxes. Despite the lack of space, the chaos is organised and spirits are high as we go about the merry business of packing up parcels of books, magazines, notebooks, bags, bookplates and more besides, to be sent off to readers around the world.
Subscriber copies of the new season’s releases – Slightly Foxed Issue 84 and our new hand-numbered limited edition of E. M. Delafield’s wonderfully wry Diary of a Provincial Lady – should already be with our readers in the UK, and elsewhere around the world over the next few weeks. We do hope they bring much pleasure.
For those who have already devoured the new offerings or are patiently waiting for them to arrive (sympathies to our Canadian friends who are caught in the crossfire of a postal disagreement) and are casting about for winter reading and present ideas, may we draw your attention to our quietly brilliant list of Plain Foxed Editions? These reprints of our most popular SF Editions come bound in a uniform duck-egg blue cloth and make perfect stocking fillers or fireside reading. The series now contains 29 titles – ranging far and wide from classic memoirs by Graham Greene and Hilary Mantel, illustrated delights by Gwen Raverat and Edward Ardizzone, a rather unusual history of a Catholic prep school in Kensington, a wickedly funny account of apprenticing with the Bloomsberries at the Hogarth Press, and much more besides. And to further tempt you, there’s a discount of £4 when you buy any four single titles in the series (no code needed, simply add four individual titles to your basket) and a number of special sets and bundles available too.
Everything listed on our website can be sent to you, or directly to a recipient, in good time for a date or occasion of your choice. Slightly Foxed subscribers can use their usual discount on all items, whether they are to be sent to you or to someone else.
Please order as soon as possible to give us plenty of time to pack and post your order for Christmas – or for any other occasion before the end of the year.
You can find a list of recommended last posting dates for domestic and international post on our website and, for all orders you can select to have an e-gift card sent to you or directly to the gift recipient’s email address, followed by the items in due course.
Do scroll down for more seasonal reading and stocking fillers and to browse the winter Readers’ Catalogue.
With best wishes from the SF staff
