US Trade Tariffs

Updated 2 Sept 2025

On 29 August 2025 a new Executive Order removed the long-standing de minimis exemption, which previously allowed shipments under $800 to enter the US duty-free. Since that date, all consumer products exported from the UK to the USA are subject to duties and taxes, irrespective of their value.

From September 2025 onwards, Slightly Foxed Ltd. will be handling orders destined for the USA on a Delivered Duty Paid basis. All parcels being shipped from Slightly Foxed to customers in the US will bear the correct customs code on the outside of the packaging to declare that duty is not due (or has been paid, as applicable) so you need not worry about paying fees on receipt of parcels. This should mean that your parcels will arrive safely and without any trouble but if you have any problems please do contact the office team: +44 (0) 20 7033 0258; [email protected] and we will do our very best to help.

We do hope this makes sense and that you’ll be encouraged to continue to order from us. Your support means a very great deal to our small enterprise.

Book Bags

Unfortunately we are unable to ship our Cotton Tote Bags and Jute Book Bags to the USA as they are not manufactured in the UK and are therefore subject to a higher tariff rate.

If you do make a purchase for a book bag to be shipped to a US address, the office team will be in touch to organise a refund for that item, or arrange for the bag to be delivered to a UK or another non-US address for you. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
