In usual circumstances, we can offer occasional week-long work experience placements to university students and graduates. However, due to the ongoing effects of the coronavirus outbreak we have been forced to suspend our work experience placements for the safety of our staff and interns alike. We hope to be able to provide placements again in 2021 but this is of course subject to any further developments regarding COVID-19.

As a small business, we’re unable to accommodate as many work experience candidates as we’d like, but during our busier periods we can certainly do with an extra pair of hands. Most of the work is fairly mundane (preparing customer and bookshop orders, envelope stuffing, social media and so on) but we do offer the chance to see how a small publisher works. The only caveat is that you need to like dogs as one of your duties may be walking the office dogs. Work experience is unpaid but we pay £10 per day expenses.

The dates we have available in 2021 are as follows:

  • 22-26 February
  • 24-28 May
  • 23-27 August
  • 18-22 October
  • 25-29 October
  • 1-5 November

Our work experience placements do fill up quickly but if you would like to be considered for work experience in 2021, please email Jess Dalby: [email protected] with your c.v. and covering letter and we’ll let you know our availability.
