Emma Tennant is a British writer and editor. She worked as a travel writer for Queen magazine and an editor for Vogue before writing books. Her first novel was published under a pseudonym, but she has written many books in her own name, including two autobiographies. She takes a postmodern approach to her writing, which often has tones of fantasy or magic; her screenplay Frankenstein’s Baby is about a man who falls pregnant. Her works are influenced by the writing of others, and she has written sequels to two Jane Austen books, Pride and Prejudice and Emma.
