‘I don’t believe I’ve ever read a more eclectic magazine than Slightly Foxed – articles from the 14th Britannica via C. P. Snow to Rex Stout. If I can resist the bibliography at the end before I begin to read an article, it can be like taking a chocolate from a box blindfold.’ – M. Bond, Barry

‘Excellent and oozing quality . . .’

‘Excellent and oozing quality . . . a beautiful format and a pleasure to hold. Each of the articles I’ve read is impeccably written (and proofread) and I suspect one would search in vain to spot either a spelling error or a grammatical solecism. Indeed a careful reading of SF would certainly repay any student of A-level English. This cannot be said of too many publications, including the "quality" newspapers.’

‘Keep up the great, great work . . .’

‘I believe I am a bit of a latecomer to this fabulous prize – I only picked up Issue 4 for the first time back in December, and I can’t help wishing that I’d cottoned on earlier . . . I already had a nasty addiction to book-buying before you came along . . . you’ll be happy to know that you’ve definitely made things worse! I love the magazine and can hardly wait for Issue 5. Keep up the great, great work.’
