Slightly Foxed at The West Meon Festival of Books

Our ‘Tea with Slightly Foxed and Mrs Miniver’ event at West Meon was a great success. Slightly Foxed editor Hazel introduced our author Ysenda Maxtone Graham, who captivated the audience with a fascinating profile of her grandmother, Jan Struther, author of The Times Mrs Miniver columns, and subject of Ysenda’s well-loved biography, The Real Mrs Miniver.

The venue was bustling with lively subscribers and local readers, and the book stall – run by our friends and supporters at the excellent independent bookshop, One Tree Books of Petersfield – was a hive of activity, with copies of The Real Mrs Miniver as well as tea towels, book bags, mugs and more flying off the table. Our favourite quote of the day came from a very enthusiastic reader who told us that, much to her husband’s horror, she drank her evening G&T out of her Slightly Foxed mug. Cheers to that, we say!
