Jane Gardam writes novels, short stories and children’s books. She has twice won the Whitbread prize and once been on the Booker shortlist. Her most recent novel was Last Friends, published in 2013. She also writes reviews for The Spectator and The Telegraph, and contributes to BBC radio.
